Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyse the role of the various segments of society at the time of Silapathigaram in national development. King was instrumental in the development of the country. Without war people live in a country in peace the country’s ruling lead a better living. It was not only the economic development of the people who live in peace, where the kings who ruled had played a crucial role. King Ceran, Colan and Pandian prioritize this principle in the state administration. At that time the people lived in peace prosperity. Thus, people who live in peace, prosperity and affluence, no doubt , will be able to support the country’s development. The Article also reveals the role of traders in the days of Silapathigram in economic development. Kavirippumpattinam’s individuality was famous in the business sector. With regard, to the economic development of the Puar also had moved higher. In addition, responsible and disciplined society has always played a role in the development of the country. Silapathigaram proved that the business sector of the country, and refine themselves. The income they received in theirdaily lives, were donate. Finally the role of the society in the country’s development is important. Thus according to Elagovadikal, Silapathigaram displays people united comprehensive in national development.

சிலப்பதிகார காலகட்டத்தில் நாட்டின் மேம்பாட்டில் பல்வேறு சமுதாயக் கட்டமைப்பு எவ்வாறு பங்காற்றுகிறது என்பதை ஆய்வு செய்வதே இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கமாகும். அரசன் நாட்டின் மேம்பாட்டின் கருவியாகத் திகழ்ந்தான். போர் அற்ற நிலையில் மக்கள் அமைதியாக வாழ்ந்ததோடு சமுதாயமும் மேம்பட்ட நிலையை அடைந்திருந்தது. ஒவ்வொரு இடத்திலும் வாழ்ந்த மக்கள் பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டிற்கு மிகுந்த முக்கியத்துவம் வழங்கி வந்த நிலையில் மன்னன் அதனை வலுபடுத்தும் ஆதாரமாக விளங்கினான். சேரன், சோழன், பண்டியன் எனும் மும்முடி வேந்தர்களும் இந்தக் கொள்கையையே தங்கள் ஆட்சியில் கடைபிடித்தனர். அக்காலத்தில் மக்கள் அமைதியுடனும் சுபீட்சத்துடனும் வாழ்ந்தனர். அமைதி, சுபீட்சம், செழிப்பு என வாழ்ந்த மக்கள் நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சிக்குப் பெறும் பங்காற்றினர். இக்கட்டுரையும் சிலப்பதிகார காலத்தில் இருந்த வணிக குலத்தோர் நாட்டின் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சியில் ஆற்றிய பங்களிப்பு குறித்தே பேசுகிறது. காவிரிப்பூம்பட்டிணம் வணிகத்தில் சிறந்து விளங்கியது. மேலும் பொறுப்பும் நல்லொழுக்கமும் கொண்ட சமுதாயம் நாட்டின் மேம்பாட்டிற்கு எப்போதும் பங்காற்றும் என்பது இக்கட்டுரையில் அறியப்படுகின்றது. சிலப்பதிகாரம் நாட்டில் உள்ள வணிகத்துறை அம்மக்களை சீர்படுத்துகிறது என்பதை நிரூபிக்கிறது. இக்காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த மக்கள் தங்களின் அன்றாட வருமானத்தில் ஒரு பகுதி தர்ம காரியங்களுக்காக நன்கொடையாகக் கொடுத்துள்ளனர். இறுதியாக மக்களின் பங்களிப்பு நாட்டின் மேம்பாட்டிற்கு மிக முக்கியம் எனும் கூற்று நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ளது. இளங்கோவடிள் இயற்றிய சிலப்பதிகாரம் ஒன்றுபட்ட மக்கள் நாட்டின் மேம்பாட்டின் அடித்தளம் என்பதை முன்வைக்கிறது.
