Abstract
This paper discusses the issue of out-of-wedlock pregnancies in Malaysia. Data was obtained from the Department of Medical Social Work, Kuala Lumpur General Hospital The study involves 140 unwed mothers aged from 16 to 30 years who come from various socio-economic strata. Exposure to pornographic, lack of religious guidance and broken family relationship were reported by the respondents as major risk factors to pre-marital sexual activities, which later resulted to their pregnancies out-of-wedlock.
