Abstract

Finding a job can be challenging for visually impaired people. This study aims to examine the job-seeking experience and work experience among the visually impaired people in Klang Valley. Questionnaires on job-seeking experience and work experience were administered face to face and through telephone calls. The job-seeking experience means score was 3.48±1.07, while the work experience means score was 3.70±0.90. The findings of this study show that visually impaired people have good job seeking and work experiences. However, there is still a gap in the support provided by stakeholders and employers to visually impaired people. Visually impaired people can utilise comprehensive support from all stakeholders to enter the job market confidently.
